Day 4: Zubiri to Pamplona

Miles Day/Total: 13.0/45.2

Weather: Partly cloudy & beautiful (thank goodness the weatherman was wrong!).

The walk still had it moments of challenge but they seemed to be moderated; downhills are still a big issues and they were there. Last 5 or 6 km into Pamplona were tedious and my legs and feet are very sore & tired.

Spent a little bit of time walking around Pamplona, highlights are the big square and the Cathedral.  It would be great to come back on vacation here and explore it a bit more deeply, a pilgrimage does not lend itself to deep tourism.  Had a great traditional Basque meal of potato salad with fried smelt and a lamb stew. It was very good, of course with a glass on good navarra produced vino tinto.

Hit the sack early at 9pm, log walk planned for tomorrow to Puenta de la Reina. Over one more moutain 27 km total, will be a long tiring trek. Forecast is for sun and warm, not sure that is good or not.
