Day 18: Fromista to Carrion de los Condes

Miles Day/Total/To Go: 12.7/245.0/270.2
Weather: Sunny Mild to Warm
Great 20km walk today in great weather. Feet and legs are feeling awesome.  Hoping this will carry over to tomorrow's 27 km walk to Terradillos de Templarios. The terrain is good and the weather forecast is favorable. Today's walk was focused and devoted to my son Paul. Paul has a great gift of kindness and the ability to have fun across a wide spectrum of people. He has great courage,  is willing to take risks and wants to know where the limits are. Needless to say this tested my abilities as a parent and many times I fell short. With Paul I have soared to the greatest heights and walked through some dark valleys, he has taught me a lot and I've made my fair share of mistakes, always trying to do the right thing (see Day 17 blog entry re: Kurt) but often not getting it quite right.  I hope he recognizes that and finds a way to forgive and reconcile it in his being. I'd like to think I've done a few things right along the way as well. Paul is a man if amazing talents in music and particularly his passions for literature and classics, he is kind and loving and a man of great Passion. He is working towards an MA at FSU to allow him to apply to PhD programs in medieval studies at some tip notch schools. I love him deeply and could not be more proud of him.
I am staying at a great Albergue run by the St. Vincent de Paul society.  Carrion de los Condes us a great little town.
Tomorrow is a significant day in the Pilgrimage as I will pass the halfway point to Santiago de Compostella!
