Day 26: Foncebadon to Ponferrada

Today was a good day. First stop was the Cruz de Ferro where I laid down the item I brought with the following prayer.

"Lord may this stone, a symbol of my efforts on the Pilgrimage, that I lay at the foot of the Savior, one day weigh the balance in favor of my good deeds when the deeds of my life are judged. Let it be so."

It was an emotional event for me filled with tears.

After that the walk was a really tough 900 meter descent down into Molinasca/Ponferadda. I was a brutal test on my legs, knees and feet mostly because the terrain was quite rocky and it was tough to get good footing. My right heel blister was causing me considerable pain.

The 19 mile walk was filled with beautiful sights and both Molinasca and Ponferadda were beautiful.
